Edu Ribeiro was born in Florianopolis, Brazil, in 1975. In 1995 he moved to São Paulo, where he found lots of opportunities to work with great artists, such as Yamandú Costa, Chico Pinheiro, Johnny Alf, João Donato, Rosa Passos, Anthony Wilson, Ivan Lins, Arismar do Espírito Santo, Joyce, Dori Caymmi, Léa Freire, Bocato, Hamilton de Hollanda, Paulo Moura and Dominguinhos, among many others. His growing discography includes releases with Rosa Passos (Azul), Chico Pinheiro (Meia noite-meio dia and Chico Pinheiro), Yamandu Costa (Yamandu ao vivo), Lea freire (Cartas Brasileiras and Antologia da Canção) and Edsel Gomez (Celebrating Chico Buarque de Holanda), among others. Besides recording as a sideman, he had also released the following albums: Corrente, (Maritaca, 2005, with Paulo Paulelli and Fábio Torres), Horizonte (Trama, 2003, with Daniel D’Alcântara) and Água (Cântaro, 1999, with Chico Saraiva and Zé Nigro). He is also the soundtrack composer for two documentaries - Carroceiros (2005) and Crianças (2006), both directed by Alexandre Rathsam. In his first album solo ,“Já tô te esperando” (Maritaca -2006), Edu shows his own compositions, featured by Chico Pinheiro, Daniel D’Alcântara, Fábio Torres, Paulo Paulelli, Thiago do Espírito Santo and Toninho Ferragutti.
