| Spring will stay here - Weber Iago 4tet
Some jewels chosen from the huge collection of the talented composer
and virtuoso Brazilian pianist Weber Iago, travelling through a
variety of moods, from Brazilian rhythms to modern chamber music.
Over the years, Iago has been in much demand as a composer and arranger
for artists such as flautist Ali Ryerson, Keith Underwood, Brazilian
singer Claudia Villela, tamba master Helcio Milito, Jeff Linsky,
Sanae Nakayma and Kenny Stahl, just to name a few.
In 1998 he was invited to be the musical director of the legendary
Tamba Trio.
In 2000, Weber Iago toured in Europe, where he recorded with talented
pianist/composer Charles Loos, from Belgium, a CD with original
compositions by Loos and himself ( released on the Belgian label
Igloo in october 2001 : IGL 160 "O sonho e o Sorriso") plus a CD
of solo piano, released on Mogno Music in January 2002 ( mogno j006
: "Two Hands, One Heart"), where he interpreted well known standards
with his unique approach.
He has toured in Europe with Charles Loos in 2001 and 2002. In solo,
he toured during 2001, 2002, 2003.
His contacts in Belgium lead him to teaching at the ÕLundis dÕHortenseÕ
training session in 2002 and at the Brazilian Music training sessions
(organised by Mogno asbl) in 2002 and 2003. During this last stay
in Belgium, he created this new quartet and recorded all these songs.
