| BRAZILIAN &
LATIN MUSIC CAMP in BRUSSELS – 8th edition - 22nd 'til 26th
august 2011 (+ concerts 26th & 27th)
Level : intermediate & confirmed welcome
You will learn typical rhythmic
and harmonic formulas on your instrument, and also specific techniques
and phrasing used by Latin and Brazilian musicians. You will also
play in an ensemble and present the result of your work in a concert
on fryday 26th or saterday 27th.
WORKSHOPS at "JazzBXL"
rue de la Chanterelle, 8 - 1020 Bruxelles
Schedule : from monday 22nd of august until friday 26th
of august:
- 1pm > 5pm :Instrument lessons (semi-individual, groups from
3 to 5 students), collective rhythm & percussion lessons
- 5pm > 7pm : Combos rehearsings ( 5 to 8 student p/ combos)
Where : In the new music school “JazzBXL”
, close to "Tours & Taxis", with parking & subway
station close by. The classes are acoustically treated and there
is a cafeteria on the premises.

| What should you know to be
able to participate :
At least :
Understanding the usuals chords progression and basic chord symbols
(like Cmaj7, Dmin7, G7, BØ, EO7) is wished, so is basic practice
of accompanying and improvisation knowledge is welcome.
Basic rhythms reading wished, and basic sight reading for melodic
instruments.
Better :
Good knowledge of chord + extensions (like G7 b9 b13 or CMaj7#11)
mandatory, knowledge of inversions wished (like FMaj7/A, E7b9/G#,
Emin9/B).
Good sight reading of rhythms.
Good practice of impro and basic harmony knowledge.
Good sightreading for melodic instruments.
Practice of combo playing.

Price :
195 € for workshops, combos and a specific syllabus with numerous
exemples, exercises and references.
It is possible to choose 2 instruments if the schedule
allows it.
It is possible to take only the combos classes, the
price will then be 95€.
