François Delporte
guitar François Delporte was born on the 2nd of August 1973. He taught himself the electric and acoustic guitar from the age of 17. Between 1994 and 1997, he played guitar, co-wrote songs and recorded with the rock band Rhésus in Belgium. Since 1998, François has taught courses in pop, rock and hard-rock guitar. In 1998, he meets the italian guitarist Paolo Loveri in Brussels, who trains him to enter the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. From 2000, he studies jazz guitar at the Conservatory under Fabien Degryse and Peter Hertmans. During this training, he meets musicians like Kris Defoort, Toots Thielemans, Jesse Van Ruller, Stéphane Galland and Michel Hatzigeorgiou.
In 2005, he graduates from the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel and begins various musical projects, such as aRTET (modern jazz, own compositions), F.O.X. (fusion), Kris Defoort & Strings (free jazz), Fede (electro rock), and Commander Grek (fusion). He also joined Lisa Margo (French song), The KMG's (disco-funk, represented Belgium at the Eurosong Festival 2007) and participated in several festivals within the belgian contemporary collective Champ d'Action. He meets the french quarter-tone trumpet player Ibrahim Maalouf at the end of 2010 and has been touring with him all over Europe and abroad since begin 2011.
