Martin Kersten saxophones Martin Kersten begins the saxophone at age 15 with Michel Van Staels. Then he studied history of jazz, music theory and had saxophone private lessons in Liege. In Brussels, he studied at the Academy of Woluwe -St- Lambert with Philippe Leblanc, and then private lessons with a conservatory student.
He plays in several bands like Turdus Philomelos, The Peas Project, Muziek de Singe. These groups allowed him to play in Belgian festivals like Esperanzah ! , Couleur Café, Dour festival, Les Ardentes in Liège, le festival d'art de Huy, The Fantastic Film Festival , Namur en mai , L'ouïe qui danse, le temps des pommes, … But also in all sorts of places such as cultural centers, youth centers, cultural associations , ...
He also took part in various projects combining theatre and music, a children's play (“Les deux gredins” in 2000, “Hanokh cabaret” in 2005 and 2007). He is part of the show for young audiences, called “Le Jouet Musical”, inspired by Pierre Chemin. More recently, he joined a cover band of hits of the sixties, led by Karim Baggili .
