- "Pianoworks" - Charles Loos “Piano
works” celebrates the welcome return of Belgian Charles Loos
to solo piano recording. The pieces come from commissions for theatre
and dance as well as inspirations meant for quiet meditation. In
Loos’ hands, the piano is transformed into a polymorphous
orchestra, cascading colors over tracks that range through diverse
inclinations, influences, interests. Here is Charles Loos in a work
of stunning intimacy and accomplishment.

- "Nehmat" - Weber Iago (solo piano) Weber
Iago 's music is unpredictable, but self-evident. It is always suprising
but logical, innovative but clear. Weber possesses a rare rhythmical
confidence and a breathtaking harmonic creativeness as demonstrated
by this collection of piano solo compositions and improvisations.
Just listen and be carried away to a timeless place where "everything
is order and beauty", as Baudelaire would say...

- "Walking the Soul Map" - Stéphane Mercier quartet
Stéphane Mercier and Charles Loos have been
playing in a "traditional set-up" quartet since 2006 only,
and even though the chemistry and its magic was present from the
very first note they played, the group gained maturity in an unusual
fast manner. "Walking the Soul Map" proves it. Whatever
the material is: originals, standards or covers, the quartet offers
deep swing, melancholy, energy, humor, and at times all of it together...

Maurane (making the famous HLM trio)...
On this album, they perform with the sublime string quartet, Thaïs,
in a repertoire composed and orchestrated entirely by Charles Loos.

was the obvious choice to complete the project.

V. DA COSTA TRIO + special guest STEVE HOUBEN
Cores de lá The idea of associating the
lyricism of the Brazilian music with the concept of improvisation
is the driving force behind this trio’s performance. As to
Victor da Costa’s music, not only is it inspired by the rhythms
of his homeland, Brazil, but also by many aspects of modern jazz.
There is no denying that this record is an interesting mixed bag
of sounds and rhythms. Furthermore, the improvisation and the musicians’
personal touch do certainly enrich this already fine and extensive
repertoire.

DANIEL STOKART
Danses sur un pied “It’s the story
of a guy searching for himself, looking for another music.
The best way he found to search, was to record himself, to listen
to it, and then to record again, multiplying himself. And the result
gives a music of sounds and colours that are really specific to
him. Live, he plays with his recordings that are parts of himself.
One may listen to, for example, a multitude of soprano saxophones
accompanied by a bass clarinet; ocarinas, flutes, all kind of saxophones
blended in a lyrical and playful patchwork.”

WEBER IAGO piano solo
Two Hands, One Heart Over the years I have focused
more on my work as a composer and a bit less on my interpreter one.
However, I noticed overtime, that my "composer's mind"
was playing an important role in my way of interpreting the works
of other composers. As a result, I saw myself, more and more, developing
an incredible desire to play works other than my own. This aspect
of my career is constantly being developed and now, I have the joy
of sharing it with my listeners.
The journey goes on!
